This is a Michelin star restaurant. I expected everything to be perfect, and of course, it was. I wasn't fond of the potatoes. They had a mustard taste to them. The waiter took them off our bill before we could even ask. He recommended a glass of wine for me, and it was on point. We tried three dips. The smoky eggplant was fantastic. Spicy feta may become a staple at my house. The fish row is not impressive. The olive on top was great. The little triangles of rosemary pita could send me in the carb overload. The chicken and the beef and the skewers fabulous. The broccolini was cooked perfectly. I'm glad I don't live near here. I'd be there every day. Oh, and the dessert, it's like they took baklava to a new level. The bartender looked as if he truly enjoyed his job.
The appetizer and main course were all great! We were three people and followed the suggestion to share the dishes and so we did! We did not have a reservation, so we were advices that we could stay for an hour and a half, we agreed and it was smooth sailing! The dessert we ordered, Ekmek, was delicious, but for our taste, a bit too sweet. It would have been overall better if it was slightly less so! But we finished it nonetheless
For my wife’s birthday I ordered 75pp “Yia Yia’s table”and was asked what kind of food we wanted, we requested octopus. The service last two hours and we were provided with an 8 course meal including a massive piece of baklava cheese cake. We had to take box up our final plate and couldn’t finish the cake. Outstanding meal, the kitchen spoiled us. Service was laid back yet attentive considering the house was packed. Not once did the service seem flustered or unorganized, smiles for miles. I highly recommend reservations as we watched a few parties not get seats due to how busy it was on a Saturday night The room was loud but low lit and we were provided a window seat which allowed us to enjoy the warm glow inside looking upon a snowy lit street. There are other dishes I’d love to try but will need to wait as this place is clearly to be reserved for celebration. It’s a beautiful product as far as hospitality and culinary arts go.
I think to get the most out of this restaurant it helps to understand what they're offering and set your expectations accordingly. It is not what I would consider a more "typical" Greek place with large portions and lots of sides included in your order (rice, potatoes, etc.). It is much more "high-end Greek tapas". If you are in the mood for the former, you might end up disappointed; the prices are definitely on the high side and the portions are moderately sized. That said, the food we had was extremely good. The calamari was among the best I've had. The anchovies were delicious (almost like a Greek bruschetta). Even the pitas were fantastic. I do wish the lamb shoulder was a bit more traditional in presentation and came with more "classic" sides. But to be fair, the menu makes clear what you're getting, and the lamb itself was cooked nicely. The room has a wonderful, warm ambiance. Our servers were friendly and helped us navigate the food and wine menus, including offering us a couple of wine tasters to help us decide. My wife had an excellent cocktail and the wines were interesting in a good way. We will definitely return and would recommend a visit for those in the appropriate mood.
Really excellent Greek dinner place. Authentic food and friendly service. You feel you are in a great place right away. The plates are well balanced, and you get a great taste of what Greece has to offer.
Namos is one of my favourite restaurants in the city! The food is so delicious - the potatoes and pitadip trio are must haves - and the service and ambiance are top-tier. I’ve been a few times now and always look forward to going back.
